Writing the Radio 4 Short Story
Run by director, Vincent McInerney, this unit will take the writer from the basic idea to a completed 2,500 word story suitable for submission to Radio 4 or to a short story magazine or a short story competition. The course will consist of theory and practice and requires the participants to bring along an idea, to be worked up and refined. A 2,500 word (15 minute) story makes a good 10 minute film script, which which there are now government grants. Time allowing, the adapting of short stories to short film scripts will be discussed.
