Ware Poets
Ware Poets has been meeting since 1991, usually on the first Friday of the month at 8 pm at Ware Arts Centre, Kibes Lane, Ware, Herts SG12, to read, listen to and enjoy poetry. Anyone can read - some read their own work. Some, who may feel that their writing talents aren't up to it but enjoy poetry nevertheless, read work by others. Reading, however, is not compulsory. We have a visiting guest poet most months and hold an annual poetry competition. Some members have had poetry collections published, but this does not mean that we are a group of super-highbrow writers who look down on lesser mortals - far from it! The atmosphere at Ware is relaxed and friendly - our guest poets have frequently commented on this. Whether you are a writer or simply enjoy poetry, why not visit us some time soon.
