We are a small group based in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire and this is our first year. We have about 10 members, some of whom have had writing published. Five of us are writing novels. We have poets, short story writers, playwrights and non-fiction writers - any genre is welcome. We help each other to improve our writing by constructive criticism. We sometimes have a writing exercise as part of the meeting that encourages members to try writing in another genre. We meet every other Thursday at 8pm, at the Apton Rd Day Centre, Bishop's Stortford.
At our September meeting one member gave us the news that she had won a website poetry competiton called The Battle of the Bards and a new lady brought in a book that she has self-published.
