The courses have proved to be a popular edition to our existing portfolio of attendance based classes and are attracting participants from across the globe. There are two classes, "Kindling" for beginners and "Feeding the Flame" for those who have been writing for some time. The courses are fully supported by a published author, Elizabeth Reeder, are offered three times year and all you need is internet access in order to take part. They consist of exercises designed to improve your writing and stimulate your imagination and creativity. You may also submit some work which will be critiqued by both the tutor and class members. In short, our Blaze courses are designed to spark your imagination and fuel your writing.

CyberScribe Corner
http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/CyberScribe_Corner/
A corner in cyberspace for writers and poets from all over Northern Ireland where, in a supportive environment, they can discuss writing, post their work and give and receive feedback, where writers can share and read current information that is of interest and of benefit to them. They can also add and view relevant links to any writer, poet, playwright, publisher, theatre and any writing/poetry organisation from Northern Ireland. New members are encouraged to introduce themselves (hopefully they’ll have a sample of their work to share in the group) mentioning some personal stuff, as well as any publishing credentials they may already have acquired and all the types of writing in which they are involved. This is so the group knows who they are and it gives them an insight into their writing, which will help them to help each other in a more effective way.

Open Spectrum
www.theopenspectrum.co.uk
Online community, Open Spectrum, is a unique and free-to-join website that provides the platform for Writers and Film-makers to converge, collaborate and produce. Its main aim is to provide opportunities and help to film, television and theatre writers in the UK and therefore boost the UK film, television and theatre industries. The site operates on a peer reviewing system – writers upload their scripts to the site and then all members review and rate the scripts to produce a Monthly Top Ten. Producers and film-makers then search through our filtered archives to find the writers and scripts that they want. Not only does it provide previously rated scripts and writers, but it offers the writer invaluable, impartial feedback on their work which will contribute to future drafts. As a community, Open Spectrum is also designed to bring people in the industry together and as the UK Short Film Industry, in particular, starts to gather momentum, we hope to be riding at the very forefront of that wave. To celebrate the launch, Open Spectrum and all its services is completely free for a limited time and we want as many as possible to reap the benefits of this free period. To try out the site for yourself please visit www.theopenspectrum.co.uk and sign up for free.
