INTERNATIONAL CITIES OF REFUGE NETWORK AND ARTICLE 19

You are invited to The Poetry Café, 22 Betterton Street, London WC2 (Covent Garden tube) Monday 7th August at 7.30 p.m.

Roaring from the Top of the World:
Exiled Writers Speak from Norway (on a special visit from Norway)

Chenjerai Hove of Zimbabwe is a poet, an essayist and an award-winning novelist. He is currently the ICORN guest writer in Stavanger, Norway.

Mansour Koushan of Iran is a former guest writer of Stavanger. A prolific poet, playwright, director and novelist, he worked to establish the independent Writers' Association in Iran.

Mansur Rajih of Yemen is a poet whose work had to be smuggled out of his prison cell for 15 years. A former guest writer of Stavanger, he is currently working on his fifth poetry collection.

Moderator for the evening: Ren Powell, an American poet, translator and essayist; Project Coordinator for ICORN and Stavanger's City of Refuge Center.

EXILED WRITERS INK in association with IEA offers

POETRY WRITING WORKSHOPS FOR REFUGEES , ASYLUM SEEKERS AND EXILES

5 two hour sessions weekly on Wednesdays from 6 September from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Venue: Islington Enterprise Agency, 64 Essex Rd, London N1 8LR (tube: Angel)

The workshops will be run by Lynette Craig who holds a Masters Degree in Writing and whose poetry is published in magazines and most recently in a pamphlet collection entitled BURNING PALACES published by Flarestack. She has a special interest in the poetry of refugees and the themes of loss and displacement.
