WELCOME!

If you’re interested in writing for stage, screen, TV or radio, Edge of London Scriptwriters is the place to meet like-minded people and to have your scripts, synopses or ideas read and critiqued with constructive feedback. It’s a place to bounce ideas off each other and it also offers the opportunity for joint or group writing ventures.

Since the group formed in December 2005 we have put together, among other things,
a radio sketch show that has been submitted to the BBC, and have run in-house writing competitions as well as helping each other with individual projects.

Our main project for 2007 is New Writing Nights: one or more productions at the Charles Cryer of fresh material. Drama... Comedy... Whatever else we might come up with!... (See www.eolnwn.info)

The group is closely linked to Carshalton Actors’ Practice Sessions
(see www.CAPSLondon.org.uk for further details) whose members are happy to read any new writing by members of EoL, giving the writer a chance to see their work performed.

We are also a member of Sutton Arts Council and Sutton Arts Exchange.

EoL membership is made up of men and women of varied ages, so anyone over 18 is welcome to join. We meet twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 7.45 to
9.30 p.m. in the rehearsal room of the Charles Cryer Studio Theatre, High Street, Carshalton. (For directions please contact us, or see www.suttontheatres.co.uk).

We operate on a not-for-profit basis, but we do need to cover the venue hire and other expenses. Entry: your first session is free, then just £3 per evening, on the door.

Prospective new members are always welcome to get in touch. Membership numbers are limited by the size of the space we use within the theatre, so we ask you to contact either Gary or Joanne for further details before you come along to your first session.
