Venue: Open Learning Centre, Brakenhale School, Rectory Lane, Bracknell RG12 7GR
This ten week course (held occasionally throughout the year) was developed by Phil Parker for the UK Film Council (based on techniques developed for his Screenwriting MA programme at London University). The course is aimed at those seeking a comprehensive overview of the screenwriting process and provides a good base for anyone interested in building a career in screenwriting. No previous experience is necessary. The course is built around a series of seminars, workshops, tutorials and short film screenings. The course is a good mix of theory and practical study. During the course the students will take a project from premise through outline to rough draft and finally, revised draft stage.
The course tutor is Tracey Prior who recently completed a trainer course with Phil Parker, has a City and Guilds in Media Techniques, (Television and Video) and writes across a broad spectrum, having published a commercial greetings collection throughout the UK.
